Criminal Law

Our Criminal Law Department is fully specialised in the handling of (economic) criminal law, which includes investigations by the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD), Social Affairs and Employment Inspectorate (ISZW-DO) and the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate-Intelligence and Investigative Service (ILT-IOD).

In addition we are one of the few law firms in the Rotterdam region specialised in administrative criminal law. For example, administrative fines in the context of the Working Conditions Act, the Foreign Nationals (Employment) Act, and other special legislation.  Due to the close cooperation with our Employment Law Section and Department of Administrative Law and Environmental Law, we can perform your defence as completely as possible.

As a result of our many years’ experience, we know that the sooner we are brought in on a case, the greater the chance is of a positive outcome. We can advise you about your rights and obligations and your litigation strategy in time, such as how to respond to the questions of investigating officer and an examining officer. The case documents can be made available to us even before an interrogation. We can discuss the course of action during the proceedings and litigation strategy to be adopted by you also on the basis of said documents.

If your criminal case does not finally lead to a further prosecution or leads to your acquittal, it is possible to file a request with the District Court to have your entire lawyer’s fee compensated.
